The Florida AHEC Network provides education and technical support to behavioral health and primary care sites across the state of Florida through practice transformation activities designed to:
Build capacity among health care providers to systematically address patients' opioid misuse
Disseminate opioid systems change strategies, tools, and resources
Encourage the integration of behavioral health services in primary care and other care settings to assist patients with behavioral and lifestyle changes
Sustain opioid risk reduction efforts
Our practice transformation centers on three steps, or tiers:
Appropriate screening, evaluation, and prevention
Safer opioid prescribing and chronic pain management
Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT)
